Who we are

PataCV (patacv.co.ke) is a CV builder for job seekers in Kenya. You can reach us at support@patacv.co.ke.

What we collect

• Your account email, and your name if you sign in with Google.
• The content of your CVs, cover letters and profile: work history, education, skills, contact details you choose to add.
• Payment references from Paystack and a record of your credits (what you bought, what each AI action used, refunds). We do not see or store your card number or M-Pesa PIN.
• Basic usage and page-view statistics to keep the service working.

Why we collect it

To run the service: to save your CVs, let you download them, run AI features on them, take payment for credits and keep your balance correct. We do not sell your data and we do not use your CV to advertise to you.

Who sees it

• AI providers. When you use an AI feature, the text of the section or document you are working on (and, for tailoring and chat, the related parts of your CV and the job description you paste) is sent to a third-party AI model provider to produce the result. Do not include information you do not want processed this way.
• Paystack handles payments (M-Pesa and cards).
• Supabase and Vercel host our database and website.
• We may disclose data if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your credit and payment records are deleted with it.

Deleting your account

Go to Settings, then Delete account. This removes your profile, resumes, cover letters and credit records. Some backups may hold copies for a short period before they are overwritten.

Your rights under the Kenya Data Protection Act

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is used. Write to support@patacv.co.ke and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke).

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
